Journey Home from Florida: Day 2

Sunday, March 20, 2011

6 o’clock was our wakeup time today. It was so hard to get out of bed. I slept on the pullout bed. Let’s just say I can’t wait to sleep in a real bed tonight. Dad made a bunch of funny noises last night. He sounded like he was trying to imitate a ghost going, “Oooooh.”

We were on the road by 7:10, and sometime before 10:30 we stopped at McDonalds for a quick drive-thru breakfast.

We stopped for gas a couple times, once in Georgia, and once on the border of Kentucky/Tennessee. I think we stopped another time, but it all kind blends together at this point.

Lunch consisted of snacks and Mountain Dew. Dinner was Arby’s somewhere in Southern Indiana.

I worked on a project on my laptop (gift-related, so I can’t go into too much detail on here), and deleted some iTunes music that was just taking up memory on my hard drive. I have over 7,000 songs, and I doubt I’ve listened to half of them. I still have a lot of deleting to do. Of course I took plenty of short naps to try to make time go by faster.

Oh yeah, and I created a bunch of different banners for the top of my blog, where it says “Live. Love. Laugh. Blog.” in multiple fonts. The banner should change every time you refresh the page. (Try it :))

I’m going to upload all my Florida pictures tonight. I discovered the best part of Photoshop thus far. There’s an image processor that will automatically resize as many pictures as you tell it to. I thought I was going to have to manually resize 132 pictures, and who knows how long that would have taken. Good thing I used Google to see if such an automated resizer existed. It worked in like 5 minutes. It was magical. We arrived home at about 6:45. Howie, Cody, and Sophie were so excited to see us and we were just as excited to see them! Howie looks so much bigger! I weighed him, and he gained 2 pounds--in 10 days!
