Stereotypes of a Walmart Employee

I was at work today (yes, I work at Walmart) and some sales associates and I were unloading carts of plants. My manager told us she had to run to the manager's office and that we should make "educated decisions" about where to put the plants we were running out of room for.

When a sales associate asked me where our manager went, I told him what she told us to do. That's when he said "What do you mean? We work at Walmart. We aren't smart enough to figure that out!"

That got me to thinking about how terrible stereotypes are, especially when they don't apply to you, but people still use them to define you. I'm in college, and I'm educated, but I work at Walmart. Deal with it.
