We actually made it to the hotel’s continental breakfast today. Well, Mom and I did. Amy and Dad were too tired to get up. The food was exactly like I remember it from last year, except this year they have mini cinnamon rolls -- my favorite! I'll definitely be waking up before 10 the rest of our time here just to have that breakfast.
After breakfast, Mom and I went out to the beach to see how warm it was outside, and there were a couple guys wind skiing. It looked like so much fun, but one of them was making it look a lot easier than the other. The wind was pretty strong today, so they had some big waves to ride. The sun wasn’t out yet, so we went back up to our suite. We lay down for a little while, and by the time I woke up again, it was already 11:30. Not wanting to waste any beach time, I immediately got my things together and went down to soak up some rays while everyone else was still in bed.
By the end of the day, I apparently soaked up too many rays. I only put 30 SPF on today to see if I would get any color, and boy did I ever. But, the color I got was red. My stomach and back are pretty fried. I had a fun time on the beach and a good day, regardless. The waves were so big! I couldn’t help but get mauled by a couple; they were so colossal. I tried to take a raft with me the first time I went out. That was a mistake. It was almost impossible to hold onto, and the waves were taking the raft and me back to shore no matter how hard I tried to resist. If had known the waves could get that big here, I would have brought my boogie board with me from home.
After a long beach day, we went to a place called 101 Ocean for dinner. It was delicious! I would definitely go there again if we come back to Ft. Lauderdale next year.
Once we were done with dinner, of course Amy and Mom wanted to go back to Doggies and Diamonds to see some puppies from yesterday. However, the ones they wanted to see weren’t there. Apparently they sell just as many puppies as they do diamonds, because the Miniature Schnauzer and Golden Retriever from yesterday were already gone.
We took a trip to Publix to pick up some aloe for my sunburn and some other random things, then we came “home” to watch Desperate Housewives. With only 5 episodes left before the series ends, every episode is getting more intense every week. I won’t completely ruin the surprise for you if you’re waiting to catch up on your DVR, but one of the main characters (not one of the Housewives) died. I still can't believe it. Who knows what will come next. I just wish it didn't have to end!
Well, it’s time for bed now after another successful beach day (minus the sunburn). It looks like I won’t be in the sun very much tomorrow unless my skin miraculously heals itself by tomorrow morning. But, either way, I’ll be on the beach.
